Englands captain’s armband
Isn’t it about time we took all this agenda out of sport.

You just watch the sweeping changes this armband will do in Qatar.

Understand in Qatar Gareth will be wearing the new England M&S suit jacket and waistcoat teamed with crotchless leather shorts held up by a rainbow ribbon.

Why on Earth does it bother you?

Re: Englands captain’s armband
Wearing it will definitely not go in our favour on the pitch don’t forget the cup is played in a country that not adverse to handing out bribes . I was talking to an old referee and he said the easiest way to help a time win was to book early there opponents full back and holding midfielder.

Re: Englands captain’s armband
They and other nations have been told by FIFA that they can wear the armband at the World Cup but not make any further comment on Qatars treatment of the LGBT community.

It will look like a positive, inclusive statement but really it is a swerve laid on to excuse players and managers for playing and earning in a country that has questionable human rights.

It’s optics not activism

the sentiment doesn't bother me, but whichever graphics team came up with that design needs stringing up.

you can get the message across without making the wearer look like a massive tit.

I doubt it.

'Why on Earth does it bother you?'

The symbol implies support for castrating males and females some as young as 16 and for non castrated men who maintain they have a female penis, to share swimming pool changing rooms with young girls.

I should imagine that is why some people are bothered by it.

Personally I think it is a bit wierd that people aren't bothered by the above but each to their own.

If only Southgate would be more Active with his team selections tactics and subs…

He reminds me of The Somnabulist on the sidelines and press conferences…

This stinks of Southgate and the focus being on this absolutely guarantees we will have a shit tournament. Southgate is another cunt that should be sacked.

On the ball
What bothers me is that political agenda should not be publicly supported in sport , football is a game not a platform to voice opinions , I wonder if they will take the knee out there.

Re: Englands captain’s armband
Sick of Southgate supporters saying “but he got us to the semis and the final of the last two major tournaments”.

We’d have won the euros with any manager that had a sense of tactics. Still astonished he decided to take Rice off, and that we sat back after scoring early.

The bloke is a born loser who is given a lot of leeway because of an easy run of games. Gaps were showing way before that hammering by Hungary. Still, at least he’s “on message” and won’t cause any controversies.

I see Hermit is forgetting his faith's history again,

Unless religion DOESN'T deal in eternal truths, it's no good saying "that was then, and this is now".

I see that Souness and Jack Grealish have arranged a meet to sort out their beefs, fair fucks to them, despite numerous threats on here it has still never happened.

I wonder of they're meeting at the Hamilton Hall?

Southgate recent quotes..

“ England boss Southgate told BBC Radio 5 Live: "I think subconsciously when you're winning you maybe don't reflect quite as deeply on why you are winning, or even some of the things that aren't quite right even though you are winning.

"When you lose like we did, then you reflect on everything and go really deep. That's not a bad process.

"I have been through a difficult run of results as a manager before and that's helpful because you know 'why'. If you didn't know 'why' poorer results happen, then that would be more of a concern."

He deserves a Rainbow Armband…

Re: Englands captain’s armband
He should have saved those quotes until after the next two games. I can see us getting comprehensively beaten and outplayed in at least one of them
